We’re back in Canada to say thanks to the sponsors that make our program possible. We are once again hosted by Andy Myers Lodge on beautiful Eagle Lake, and lodge owner Julian Kalka has really rolled out the red carpet, as he does with every guest.

We have a great stay, and equally great fishing, as we show representatives from Clam Outdoors, Yamaha, Johnson Pump, and MacGillis Wiemer why people love to fish this fantastic fishery. A few of our guests catch personal best fish, and we all had a great time!

Giants on Lake of the Woods

We always look forward to our annual fall trip to Lake of the Woods, and we finally headed back to Grassy Narrows Lodge. Wayne and the fantastic staff know how to take care of guests, and it feels like home whenever we visit. 

We have come to expect great fishing on Lake of the Woods, and this year has been one we will never forget. On this trip, the average size of muskie has been something that we have never experienced, seeing a few 50”+ fish, which is unprecedented in the show's history.

Giants on Lake of the Woods, Part 2

The giant Esox kept biting on Lake of the Woods, so we had no choice but to continue the trip into another episode, which is a great problem to have.  We didn’t have a moment to sit still during the most chaotic part of the day, so as we relaxed at the end of the day back at Grassy Narrows Lodge, we were finally able to reflect, and what happened on this trip was truly once-in-a-lifetime!. We will absolutely be back!

Episode 48

Last Muskie Trip of the Year

It’s starting to get cold out, but if the landings are still accessible, then there is still a chance to catch a big muskie before everything freezes up. Rob Manthei recently broke his thumb on a hunting trip, but he’s still out here putting us on big fish.  We’re mainly using suckers this time of year, but casting a lure can still draw fish in, and is a good way to keep warm waiting for the sucker rod to go off.
