Episode 6

Ice Fishing Trout on the River

This week we’re on one of the most unique trips that we have ever experienced, and it’s right here in Wisconsin!  

We’re on the ice with Tyler and Tim of Habitual Guide Service.  They do a very wide variety of guiding throughout the year, and this week we’re on the ice in a skinny part of the Manitowoc River targeting trout.  Using spawn sacks rigged to Automatic Fisherman, they set out a wide swath of rods, and when one is hooked up, you need to get there as soon as you can.  The way these fish fight is unlike anything else; you’re battling the fish, the current, structure under the ice, and the sharp edge of the ice at the bottom of the hole. 

It’s a phenomenal day on the ice, and we would strongly recommend you do this trip at least once in your life!

Episode 7

Winnebago Perch & Walleyes

Location: Lake Winnebago, Oshkosh, Wisconsin

We’re excited to get back on the ice on Lake Winnebago, which is a very popular destination for many anglers.  We’re out with our good friend and guide Captain Matt Merten, who brought his ice shack along so we can change spots quickly, and fish in comfort. 

We maining set out to target perch, but are happily surprised to be reeling in some beautiful walleyes as well.  From our day on the ice, we can see that Winnebago is flourishing, and would be a fun trip for any angler.

Episode 8

Sand Bay Whitefish

It was an absolutely brutal day outside the day we headed to Sand Bay Beach Resort to get back on the ice with Dale Stroschein. Dale is a longtime friend and guide, and runs a first-class guide service, Wacky Walleye Guide Service. He has a resort right on the bay that clients can get ready in, and will shuttle everyone out to the spot. On days like the day we’re out, he also has very comfortable shacks that are heated, and keep you out of the wind so you can fish in comfort.

We’re targeting whitefish on this trip, and they’re coming out of 60 feet of water, so they fight like crazy the whole way up!

Episode 9

Northwoods Pike

Show Date: February 26th, 2022

Location: Iron River, Wisconsin

We’re up in the northwoods to sneak in one last gamefish show before the season closes, and we once again find ourselves in an erratic weather pattern, which has become the norm this winter. We’re targeting pike with Beaver Dams, and doing just a little jigging on the side.

Day one, we have snow all day, and an absolutely awesome morning bite, but that shuts down like a light switch. Day two is bitterly cold, but the bite is more steady throughout the day.

Our guide is Josh Teigen, and he's lived in this area his entire life, and has so many lakes to choose from, there is always something biting.
