Episode 19

Jumbo Door County Walleyes

This is an exciting week for us, because we are back in the boat with our very good friend Dale Stroschein, and we’re after trophy walleye on the Bay of Green Bay! We’re still in the midst of this cooler than normal spring, and are still seeing surface water temps at 36ºF.  

Undeterred at the weather, Dale puts us on the spots, and we get hooked up with some incredibly beautiful Door County walleyes.  Using either a hair jig with a very specific retrieve, or the old reliable Kalin’s Jerk Minnow with a more subtle popping action is what is working best during our trip.

Episode 20

River Crappie Fishing

This week we’re excited to get out to panfish, specifically targeting crappies on the Mississippi River. Our guide Vince Moldenhauer loves to get out in early spring and find big schools of them, and he has a bunch of great spots. During our trip we just needed the morning to get our fill of fun, because they bit the entire time we were on the first spot. 

Catching crappies always makes you feel young again, which is especially true when you find that big school.

Episode 21

Tranquil River Float Trip

This week we are doing a very unique river float trip, on a small but stable inflatable fishing raft with guide Tim Maher of Habitual Guide Service.  The advantages of being in a small craft like the 3-person raft we’re in on this trip, is getting to areas to fish that you could never attempt in a traditional boat.  

This was a very fun, and exceptionally tranquil way to experience this great sport that we all love.

Episode 22

Fishing with the Stars

We’re thrilled to once again be a part of the St. Germain annual ‘Fishing with the Stars’ Event.  We had 3 great guests join us for an excellent day of fishing in the St. Germain area.
