Episode 43
Walleyes After Turnover
Show Date: October 24th & 25th, 2020
Location: Houghton, Michigan
This week we headed north, to the upper pinnsula of Michigan to enjoy the fall colors, and catch some fish too. When we arrived, we found that most of the color change had already taken place. The difficult part about this time of year is turn-over. Luckily, with the cooler weather, the lakes seemed to already be turned over.
We are looking to target walleye, but expect to catch pike, and maybe a few bass too.
We are up for a day and a half, getting a lot of wind during our first half day. We find fish, but with gusts up to 40 MPH, it's difficult to both control the boat, and see a bite.
On day 2, it's flat calm, so we went back to the spots we found fish, and started catching them again. As soon as we got a pattern down, the rain started, and the bite totally shut down.
