Location: Wisconsin River, Wisconsin Dells

Rivers are the place to be for anglers this time of year, but when a cold-front rolls in, you may find you’ll have a tough time reeling anything in.
We’ve inlisted Big Dave Ehardt to make something happen on the river in the Wisconsin Dells. It was a tough go of it to find fish, but once we did we put together a good day of fishing.
Episode 19
Great Day on Lake Erie
Show Date: May 9th & 10th, 2015
Location: Lake Erie, Toledo, Ohio
Guide: Captain Paul Pacholski [1-800-798-1218 | eriehopper.com]
We love Lake Erie. It’s a walleye factory that provides great fishing, and we can keep our fish without worrying about the health of the fishery. The factory is in full operation during our visit, as we find ourselves catching “cookie-cutter” 24” fish all day long. Using blade baits, hair jigs, and plastics we are catching fish! It’s fun using whatever bait want to catch fish, but as usual, try using what the captain suggests - you’ll probably catch more.
Episode 20
Spring Door County Walleye Bonanza
Show Date: May 16th & 17th, 2015
Location: Sand Bay Beach Resort - Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin
Guide: Pro Guide Dale Stroschein [ 920-743-5731 | wackywalleye.com]
The spring jigging bite on Sturgeon Bay is one of the most exciting of the year. We are out with Captain Dale Stroschein for a bite that we wait all winter for. We are joined by Tom from Johnsonville, who will be unveiling a brand new product from Johnsonville.
This jig bite requires a precise technique, one that Dale is very good at; and one that has slowly evolved over time. Dales weapon of choice for this bite is a hair-jig, similar to the jig we use on Lake Erie this time of year, only smaller. Dale tells us that what’s old, is new again; saying “a lot of the things that we developed years ago are still extremely effective, but are forgotten about.”
Episode 21
We’ve Got Weather and Walleyes
Show Date: May 23rd & 24th, 2015
Location: Vilas County, Wisconsin
Guide: Pro Guide Rob Manthei [715-477-2042 | robmanthei.com]
Accommodations: St. Germain Lodge [ StGermainLodge.com ]
The northwoods of Wisconsin is a beautiful place, with great fishing, but sometimes the weather can make a huge swing downward; like it did when we were there. Rob Manthei guides us on what could be called the worst conditions you could ask for, with a 40 degree drop in temp in one day, and precipitation that can’t figure out if it want’s to be snow or rain.
Rob advises that even with a big cold-front, you should start out where fish had been in past days, and working outward from there. He stresses that you should fish a lot slower than you normally would, because the weather swing slows the fish down.
Doing a new show every week can present unique challenges, and this week outcome was a welcome surprise.
