Trolling for the Big One
Show Date: July 3rd & 4th, 2015
Location: Lake Michigan, Milwaukee, WI
Guide: Charter Captain Brian Settele [414-559-9238 | fishchaserguideservice.com]
Trolling this time of year is a lot of fun. It’s the best way to catch big fish, in our case we’re looking or Chinook Salmon. Captain Brian Settele is our guide, and John’s brother in Law Tom & a few buddies are our guests.
Covering water is the key to catching fish on Lake Michigan. Brian is running 6 rods with planar boards, fishing between 110 and 130 feet of water. The lure of choice is flashers with flies or spoons.
Episode 28
Keeping it Close to Home
Show Date: July 11th & 12th, 2015
Location: Lake Delavan, Walworth County, WI
Guide: Matt Bichanich – Uncle Josh Pork Baits – unclejosh.com]
We’ve got a friend in from out of town, so we’re showing him what lakes near home (for us) have to offer.
This week we are hosting Mike from Yamaha Outdoors. Mike is from California, and loves to bass fish, so we’re taking him to Delevan Lake. Matt Bichanich from Uncle Josh Bait Co. is our guide, and is confident that we will find at least a few big fish.
We are working mostly weed edges close to shore. We are looking for schooling bass in 10-20 feet of water. Drop-shot rigs are what worked best for us on this trip.
Episode 29
Operation Muskie 2015
Show Date: July 18th & 19th, 2015
Location: Lake of the Woods, Oak Island, MN; Walsh’s Bay Store Camp [1-800-214-2533 | baystorecamp.com]
We are pleased and honored to once again be invited to Operation Muskie on Lake of the Woods. Operation Muskie is an annual event that is now in it's seventh year, which hosts 20 war veterans that have recently been deployed to Iraq or Afghanistan. Ten great Muskie guides donated their time this to take these guys out for a week of fishing. We get to tag along with three of them this year, Pete Maina, Norm Wild, and Jim Best.
Lake of the woods is a massive 1,000,000+ acre body of water occupying parts of two Canadian provinces and the state of Minnesota. Contained within are over 4,552 islands and 65,000 miles of shoreline. With all of that shoreline, this is an esox anglers dream.
Bay Store Camp is our home base, and the launch pad for our hunt for the fish of 10,000 casts. Frank & Laura Walsh are our hosts, and have been since the very first Operation Muskie event. In our boat we try a variety of baits to work over the massive amount of shoreline that we fish, where everywhere looks like a “juicy” spot.
In addition to the fishing, the weeks schedule allows for the group to get together and discuss the days events. Operation Muskie is about the camaraderie among the group as much as it is about the fishing.
Thank You to all the Men and Women of our armed forces.

Operation Muskie could not happen without the generous support of individual donations, industry gifts-in-kind, and corporate sponsorship. A special thanks to Mills Fleet Farm and Walsh's Bay Store Camp.
Thank you to all of the people who have helped make every year of this great event possible, many of whom have been volunteering since the beginning.
It has been an honor to be included in such a great event.

Gillespie Family Vacation 2015
July 25th & 26th, 2015
Location: Vilas County, Wisconsin
Whenever you can get together with your family, it’s a special time. As we’ve been doing every year for over a decade, we love to get together in the Wisconsin northwoods, and do some relaxing and fishing. It’s always our goal to get everybody out on the lake during our trip, and put them on fish. We catch everything from walleye to bass to bluegill, and it’s especially fun to see the grandkids catch fish too!
