Saugers & Walleyes on Lake of the Woods

One of the trips that we’ve been wanting to do for many years was to ice fish Lake of the Woods. Our good buddy Travis has had an open invitation for a while now, and we finally made it! Ice conditions are constantly changing, but we had good solid ice while we were there. We tried a bunch of different presentations, and they hit them all, which is just a phenomenally fun way to fish. We caught and released well over 100 fish, and also kept a few to fry up for dinner! Thanks for the invite Travis, we’ll be back next year!

Episode 6

Backwoods Bass Lake

Location: Hayward, Wisconsin

We’re doing something a little different on this week’s show, heading out on the ice to target largemouth bass. We’ve got a big spread of Beaver Dams, and a great group of guys keeping an eye out for flags. We’re using a pretty simple set-up, just a golden shiner, set a few feet from the bottom.

Panfish & Tip-Ups

This week we’re exploring what Vilas County is so good at, variety! We head out for an evening of pan-fishing, catching crappies, gills, and perch. The next day we go to another lake, and put out a big spread of Beaver Dams for walleye and pike. We ended up fishing during a front, so the tip-ups didn’t result in a lot of big fish, but we were busy most of the day with flags, so we weren't bored.

We take a trip to Vilas county to get in some panfishing, and then chase some flags! So nice to have a variety to choose from all in one location.

Crappie Bonanza

We’re excited to be back ice fishing with the panfish guru, Ryley Hansen. This time we’re in the Longville area of Minnesota, and targeting jumbo crappies. Ryley only fishes trophy lakes with a very small bag limit, so we have an opportunity for a personal best, and still take a few home to eat as well. We want to thank Kelly and Bruce for letting us tag along during their guide trip with Ryley, we had a great time fishing with you both!
